Description: Rare 1948 Muddy Ruel Cleveland Indians road jersey. Grey flannel shirt with original "Cleveland" team name on front and #42 on back. MacGregor Goldsmith tag remains in collar along with name strip tag. Applied "2-48" set/year strip tage remains inside shirt tail and Chief Wahoo patch is on left sleeve. Ruel served as a coach for the 1948 World Champion Indians after his long Major League career that included playing for the Washington Senators and in 1920 was the catcher for Carl Mays when Ray Chapman was hit in the head and killed. Very clean overall with beautiful original color. Includes LOA from David Bushing/Dan Knoll: EX-MT
