Description: 1916 Alfred J. Reach trophy. Fine quality 21" tall sterling silver weighted trophy weighing 73.4 ounces. Inscribed on front, "Presented to Alfred J. Reach by his business associates in affectionate commemoration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of his honorable and successful Mercantile Life 1866-1916". Stamped sterling by Black, Starr, & Frost under base, Alfred Reach was, of course, one of the founders of Reach Sporting Goods which was one of the dominant manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th century. Has a few minor dings at the base, rare to see a baseball related trophy of this quality in sterling silver: EX
