Description: Scarce Mel Ott single signature baseball. In just over (11) years of conducting vintage baseball auctions we have handled one Mel Ott single signed baseball in our August 1999 auction. At the time our presale estimate range was ($3,500.00-$4,500.00) which was eclipsed with a record selling price at the time of $12,100.00. The offered Mel Ott single signed ball in our current auction remains the only one that we have handled as we have had the good fortune to have it consigned by the winning bidder in 1999. Light cream color Frick NL ball signed in black ink on a side panel rating 8/9 out of 10. Ball was obtained by the original consignor in person at a Giants game. Many single signature baseballs are tagged with the term "rare" but authentic Mel Ott single signed baseballs (with impeccable provenance nonetheless) border on impossible. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad and letter of provenance from original recipient: Ball: EX/MT, Signature: EX/MT-NM
