Captivating oil on canvas painting of (2) packages of Sweet Caporal cigarettes and tobacco situated on a table top alongside of a stoneware tankard and pipe. Exhibits subtle warmth and color in achieving the essence of trompe-l'oeil style of painting for which Dubreuil was among the finest of American artists of the period incl. Haberle, Peto, and Hartnett. Measures 12"x14" in handsome gilt lined black molded edge frame, signed at lower left "V.Dubreuil" whose work has been exhibited at Whitney Museum, National Gallery of Art, and Detroit Institute of Art: EX
