Description: Rare Shibe Park cornerstone c.1909. Scalloped edge sculpted white marble inverted shield stone with gilt decorated and impressed "SP 1909" on front denoting the opening season of Shibe Park in Philadelphia. Piece measures 10" tall with original patina and surface having only a few very minor edge chips. Marked on back "Lehigh Side" which would denote the first base side of the ballpark on West Lehigh Ave. Most likely one of a few such pieces that adorned the glorious early ballpark: EX
