Description: Rare Christy Mathewson Tuxedo tobacco advertising display c.1912. One of the most desired and attractive player endorsed advertising pieces of its' type the offered cardboard display measures 15"x18 1/2" with a color lithographic image of Mathewson in center flanked by green background rectangular panels having stylized "Tuxedo" lettering. Piece has some retsoration to include afew small holes that have been filled and inpainted, 3" repaired crease/tear under image of Matty, and a few other minor spots of inpainting. Triple matted and framed archivally, very impressive overall display: EX (With note to restoration)
