Description: Scarce skull style football stocking cap c. 1890's. Knit wool red cap with white stripe and ball on top. Cap has appropriate usage wear with some period repaired holes and tears all of which are desired in such a piece. Cap originated in a Keene,NH estate (5) years ago along with other period football equipment including noseguard and unusual rain cap style helmet. Based on obvious fragility this style easily ranks as one of the toughest pieces of early football equipment to acquire: VG-EX (With note to usage wear)
