Description: Fenway Park attributed Jimmy Fund collection container. The Jimmy Fund was founded in 1948 to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Boston and the organization has had a long standing association with Red Sox. Among the most prominent of spokespeople to help in their fund raising efforts was Ted Williams and in many ways they have become synonymous with each. Rare original collection box matches others which are known to have hung in Fenway Park and it would have been in use for many years. Wooden backing board, with "Jimmy Fund" lettered on in red, stands 24" tall and a cast iron collection box is affixed below. Use/wear as expected given long term use as intended and the lock hasp has been removed: EX
