Description: Superb Johnny Bench autographed professional model catcher's mitt c.1978 (Bench LOA)(PSA/DNA). Rawlings Heart of the Hide model "RL" catchers' mitt is a top of the line example dating to the late 1970s. Player number "5" is written on the web in vintage black marker and there is what appears to be a very faint, barely discernable, Johnny Bench signature on the outer pinky area. It has been signed more recently in bolder blue marker "Johnny Bench Game Used" on the inside rating 7/8 out of 10. Strong use is evident throughout. An included letter of provenance relays that it was obtained in 1978 by a batting practice pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds and was sourced through Coach Russ Nixon. The glove is also accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from Johnny Bench confirming that the offered glove was his personal glove and game used. Outstanding example ranks as one of the finest known with direct provenance and corroborative letter from Bench himself.
