Description: Superb Willie Mays professional model baseball bat c.1970 (PSA/DNA GU 9.5). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 33.1 oz exhibiting tremendous use to include ball marks, stitching impressions, rack marks, grain swelling, pine tar residue on handle and professionally repaired handle crack. Model #R43 stamped on knob end along with partial uniform number remaining visible in red marker. The bat was obtained directly from Mays by the consignor in the period who was provided access to the Giants stadium by Garry Schumacher the Giants PR Director. Outstanding example dating to the prime of Mays' historic Hall of Fame career with primary source provenance.
