Description: Outstanding 1976 Mike Schmidt Philadelphia Phillies professional model home uniform (Resolution ResMatch)(SGC/Grob: EX)(Possible 1976 All-Star Game). Pinstriped home jersey has the Phillies “P” team logo on left front chest and number “20” on the right. Number also appears on back below a “Schmidt” nameplate. In the collar is a “Schmidt” embroidered strip tag and an additional on left front tail reads “42 76 Set 2.” Above is a Wilson tag noting size (42). Outlines of the original National League Centennial and Philadelphia Bicentennial patches are visible on either sleeve with replica patches having been applied over top for display purposes which could be switched out for vintage examples when available. Matching pants are by Wilson with size (35) stitched into the tag. An embroidered strip tag reads “Schmidt 76 4 34 35.” In exceptional all original condition (with note to restored patches) and there is strong use and wash wear evident throughout. The jersey has been assigned the highest designation of “ResMatch” for a conclusive photo match image of Schmidt in 1976 wearing the offered jersey. Additionally, the shirt was also designated as a likely match to an image of Schmidt in the 1976 All-Star Game. Mike Schmidt enjoyed one of his most productive seasons in 1976 leading the National League with (38) homeruns and earning the first of what would become ten Gold Gloves for his play in the field. He started the season by hitting (12) homeruns in the Phillies first (15) games, a stretch which included his April 17th performance when he became just the 10th player in history to hit four in one game. He led the club to an NL East Championship and began to cement his legacy as the greatest player in franchise history. The uniform was originally purchased in the period through a Phillies related charity event and has remained in the family of the original recipient since that time.
