Description: Mike Schmidt autographed batting gloves attributed to career homerun #536 (tying Mickey Mantle). Franklin brand batting gloves (size Adult XL) showing considerable use/wear are both signed by Mike Schmidt with the left glove inscribed "6/17/(not visible) #536"". The Phillies June 17, 1988 game was played against the Mets in New York. In the fourth inning Mike Schmidt ended the longest homerless streak of his career hitting a solo shot off Doc Gooden. The milestone homerun with his 6th of the season and 536th of his career which tied him for 7th place all-time alongside Mickey Mantle. Signature on the left hand glove was signed over the maroon fabric and can not be deciphered, the right hand glove was partially signed over the Franklin label and rates approx 5/6 out of 10. Obtained directly from Schmidt by our consignor in the period.
