Description: Rare Imperial Size Babe Ruth autographed and inscribed photograph. Very seldom offered 17"x21" size format black and white image of Ruth in classic batting pose which were believed to have been personally produced for distribution by Ruth himself. The photo has been signed with a lengthy inscription at the bottom margin, "To other Catholic Boys Guidance Center of Boston. Try your best and give all you have. Who can ask for anything more. Your Pal, Babe Ruth 1948." The inscription and signature fluctuate slightly in strength with a general average of 7 overall contrasting nicely against the lighter image background. The photo itself retain excellent eye appeal with a 1" area of the darker background and smaller scratch to Ruth's cheek both having been inpainted due to surface abrasions. One other surface imperfection at the bottom right is also present mentioned for accuracy only. One of the more unique and personal Ruth inscriptions that we have encountered on a photograph perhaps with relation to his endearment to young boys given Ruth's troubled youth. One of only a scant handful of this large size variant signed images to have entered the marketplace.
