Description: 1956 Bill Russell Pacific Association of A.A.U. Outstanding Athlete Award (Russell Collection Photo Match). Important early career honor as presented to Russell in recognition of his outstanding NCAA Championship season with the University of San Francisco. Walnut wooden plaque features an affixed brass placard engraved to Russell with embossed gold coin at bottom and enamelwork AAU California seal at top. Plaque measures 9"x13" with some minor surface scratches to placard and few minor flakes to finish on wooden plaque. The offered plaque can be seen in a period newspaper image of his trophy room showing it hanging on the wall.
