Description: 1954-55 Bill Russell "George Mikan" Award. Diminutive 7" tall figural trophy with figural player finial atop a brown Bakelite base with inscribed brass placard, "George Mikan" Award 1954-55 Bill Russell University of San Francisco Presented by United States Rubber Company. Minor surface wear to the base with the original figural at top having been replated. Very early career award as presented to Russell with particular significance given the high regard which Bill had for Mikan as one of the all time greats of the sport.
