Description: Important 1969 Bill Russell Boston Celtics NBA Championship ring - his 11th NBA Championship in (13) years. Significant Celtics issued Championship ring as presented to Bill Russell in honor of his play during the 1968-69 season in which he lead Boston to the 11th N.B.A. title of his Hall of Fame career. The Celtics entered the Playoffs as the fourth seeded team in the East but would upset both the 76ers and the Knicks to meet Los Angeles in the NBA Finals. The heavily favored Lakers jumped out to a two game lead but Boston would battle back stretching the series to a 7th and deciding game. In one of the most dramatic upsets in NBA history the Celtics claimed their second consecutive title after a showdown between Russell and his Lakers rival, Wilt Chamberlain. Classic design has a green faux stone face with a diamond at the center set within a basketball figural mount. "1969 Boston Celtics World Champions" is lettered around the beveled edge. On the left shank is the name "William" in a banner above the Celtics mascot; right has last name "Russell" above an "NBA" logo and shamrock. Size (13.25) and marked "10K Jostens" on the interior band with some light general wear. Weighs (34) grams. Among the most significant player presented Championship rings ever offered.
