Description: Rare 1911 T332 Helmar Stamps complete set (Copeland Collection). Exceedingly rare group is one of the few complete sets of Helmar stamps which has been offered at auction. Purchased by our consignor at the famed Copeland sale in 1991 and it has remained in his collection since that time. Included are a host of notable players and nearly every key Hall of Famer of the period. In general the stamps have a crisp and clean overall appearance, however approximately (70) have mounting residue and/or other back damage and there are some other scattered mostly minor condition issues. Notables include Frank Baker (SGC 3 VG), Chief Bender*, Roger Bresnahan*, Mordecai Brown, Max Carey, Frank Chance, Hal Chase*, Eddie Cicotte*, Fred Clarke (SGC 4 VG EX), Ty Cobb* (SGC "A"), Eddie Collins, Sam Crawford, Johnny Evers, Clark Griffith, Miller Huggins*, Hugh Jennings, Walter Johnson (SGC "A"), Nap Lajoie*, Rube Marquard*, Christy Mathewson* (SGC 1.5 FR), John McGraw, Tris Speaker (SGC 3 VG), Joe Tinker*, Bobby Wallace*, Ed Walsh*, Zach Wheat*, and Cy Young (SGC 3 VG). Those denoted with an (*) have back damage. Condition runs the range of PR-EX with a good distribution of stamps falling at all levels in between.
