Description: July 24, 1983 George Brett "Pine Tar Game" ticket stub with related material. Original stub issued for the Royals vs. Yankees game played at Yankee Stadium. The game was won by New York after George Brett's 9th inning homerun was nullified by umpires who cited a violation of the rules regarding the amount of pine tar a player could have on his bat. Desirable stub remains in very nice overall condition with a touch of light wear (graded "VG-EX 4" by PSA). Includes a signed typed letter from Lee MacPhail Jr (then President of the American League) with great content related to the game. His would later rule that the game be continued from the point of Brett's home run and when resumed (25) days later the Royals won 5-4; handwritten letter from home plate umpire Tim McCelland with a full recounting of the incident; original July 28, 1983 dated American League press released with their findings/ruling; and (2) modern printed 8"x10" photographs of Brett arguing the call: VG-EX
