Description: Rare 1891 Amos Rusie cabinet by Joseph Hall. Important early cabinet card (4.25"x6.25") showing Hall of Famer Amos Rusie in formal attire during his second season with the New York Giants. In the coming years he would blossom into one of the premier pitchers of the era on one of the most potent teams in history. Identified along the lower edge, "Amos Rusie" with an "1891, by Joseph Hall..." mark below. Hall is one of the most noted of the early baseball photographers and is responsible for visually documenting some of the games' earliest stars. The piece displays well with a spec of paper loss to the center of the bottom front edge and there are two minor spots of discoloration/soiling on the extreme of either side. Back has loss to the edges which is the result of prior mounting and a small mark at the center has been gone over in ink.
