Description: 1946 Chicago White Sox professional model road jersey. Gray flannel jersey has "Chicago" team name across the front and number "22" on back. "MacGregor Goldsmith" tag in the collar notes size (44). An embroidered strip tag reads "Lopat 46" and the jersey has been signed "Ed Lopat" below in marker rating 8 out of 10. The number on back (22) appears to be original to the period with no evidence of a change however Lopat wore number (48) during the duration of his time with the White Sox (1944-47). In 1946 the number (22) was issued to Coach Mule Haas and it is unknown why there is a period attribution to Lopat. On the left sleeve is an original Stars & Stripes patch. Well preserved with use and wash wear evident throughout and some minor toning. Includes auction LOA from JSA and LOA from Hunt Auctions: EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,500-$3,000)
