Description: Ty Cobb custom golf club as presented upon his retirement in 1926. Wooden shaft driver is marked "Crawford, McGregor, and Canby Co. Dayton, OH." on the shaft which is lettered "Tyrus The Greatest" on the opposite side. A "Tyrus R. Cobb" facsimile signature is engraved on the top of the head which has "Ty Cobb Detroit Tigers 1926" text on the front. An additional "T.R.C." monogram is on the underside along with some model designations. A custom canvas and leather carrying bag has affixed baseball figural identification tag which reads "Ty Cobb" on the front and "Detroit Tigers" on back. Use and some general age related wear to both club and case/bag. It is well documented that Cobb spent much of his retirement playing golf and was in fact a member of (6) different clubs at one point. He was a frequent playing partner of Bobby Jones and is said to have been quite skilled.
