Description: Magnificent 1909-11 S74 Tobacco Silks uncut sheet - (156) total silks including multiples of Cobb and Mathewson. Exceedingly rare, and quite likely unique, uncut sheet of S74 Tobacco Silks (white) is one of the most striking baseball related tobacco display pieces we have handled. There are a total of (156) silks preserved in original form with a total of (70) different subjects including (14) Hall of Famers, each of whom appear (2) or (3) times (the non Hall of Fame players mostly appear 2 or 3 times as well with a handful just once). Notables include (3) Ty Cobb, (2) Roger Bresnahan, (3) John McGraw, (3) Larry Doyle, (2) Tris Speaker, (2) Fred Merkle, (2) Fred Snodgrass, (2) Frank Baker, (2) Mordecai Brown, (2) Eddie Collins, (2) Joe Tinker, (2) Frank Chance, (3) Fred Clarke, (3) Rube Marquard, (2) Chief Bender, (2) Johnny Evers, and (2) Christy Mathewson. The sheet has been mounted to backing and has little mentionable wear aside from a few fold lines/creases.
