Description: Important 1968 Johnny Bench Gold Glove Award - First Ever Awarded to a Rookie Player. Prestigious award as presented annually to the premier defensive players of the National and American League by position. Classic design showcases a gold finish Rawlings leather glove with "Major League All Star Fielding Team" impressed in black lettering and a Johnny Bench facsimile signature. This sits atop a pedestal that has a metal placard imprinted with his likeness on front. On either side sit a pair of gold finished "Rawlings" marked baseballs in three pronged holders one of which has a small repaired crack. Additional metal placard on the lower front reads, "C - John Bench, 1968 The Sporting News National League All-Star Fielding Team". Measures 6.5"x17.5" at widest points and stands approx. 15.5" tall.
