Description: 1972 Johnny Bench "All Star Election Champion" trophy for most votes. Prestigious award as presented to Bench who received the most votes of any National League player for selection to the 1972 All-Star Team. The piece stands 18" tall with 7.5" square base. Triangular metal placard affixed to the front reads, "All Star Election Champion by Vote of the Fans, Johnny Bench, All-Star Game 1972." A red, white, and blue logo appears at the top above "The Gillette Award" titling. "Balfour" label is on the underside. Bench narrowly beat out Joe Torre to lead the voting for the game which took place in Atlanta. Hint of light scattered wear. Includes letter of provenance from Johnny Bench: EX/MT
