Description: 1968 Johnny Bench "Ballplayers Of Yesterday…Rookie Of The Year" award. Large figural trophy (39" tall with 7"x13.5" footprint) has a metal placard affixed which reads, "Ballplayers Of Yesterday Assn. Award To Johnny Bench, Cincinnati Reds, National League Rookie of The Year, 1968." A figural catcher is mounted atop handled trophy cup at the top. The Ballplayers of Yesterday is a group that was organized in the 1940s in Cincinnati "to promote baseball among the youth." The trophy was presented to Bench during their annual event which took place on January 31, 1969. Little mentionable wear.
