Description: Exceedingly rare Mike "King Kelly" 1887 Hastings Cabinet Card. Exceptional portrait photograph by Hastings, one of the premier baseball photographers of the 19th Century, remains on its' original studio marked mount. Kelly is shown just after his arrival in Boston following the purchase of his contract by the Beaneaters for a then unheard of price of $10,000. The piece is in fine overall condition with an EX/MT or better appearance when viewing from the front. An ink notation (identifier) on the upper back edge, along with a tape stain and small spot of paper loss, limit the technical grade to a lower level. One of a select few examples to have surfaced, and interestingly a slightly different variation that the other one which we have seen, of this highly significant relic: SGC 1.5 FREstimated Price Range: ($10,000-$15,000)
