Description: Rare and possibly unique Jake Daubert professional model baseball bat (Louisville Slugger Archive Collection). Early hand turned bat measures 35 1/4" long and weighs 40oz. with "DAUBERT" stamped on barrel. Bat exhibits a fine period surface and shows evidence of use with factory side writing "Old Jake Daubert". Knob end has "DAUBERT" along with vault marked model number D12 which also is stamped on barrel end. Daubert played for (15) years with Brooklyn and Cincinnati amassing over 2,300 hits and a lifetime batting average of .303. He died at the young age of 40 in 1924 and is frequently mentioned as one of players of his era that may have a chance to be voted into the HOF by way of the veteran's committee. This bat was originally de-accessioned from the Hillerich & Bradsby Co. collection. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions with SCD Authentic hologram affixed and includes Letter of provenance from the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory: VG-EX
