Description: "The Evolution of the Baseball" 19th century lemon peel baseball museum display c.1840-70s. Very substantive and historic display of four scarce lemon peel baseballs as displayed in the Green Diamond Gallery Museum. Group includes 6" circumference "H" style lemon peel baseball in white leather with primitive surface: GD-VG; Unique four piece lemon peel baseball with two toned red/brown leather panels. 7" circumference: EX; Lemon peel "H" style 7 1/2" circumference ball with primitive stitching: VG; and a professional quality one piece lemon peel style baseball. Exceptionally high quality 9" circumference light tan color baseball with tightly stitched formation. Very clean overall with a few tiny holes possibly from weevil damage: VG. Includes four ball display stand with titled placard on the front. One of the more notable group offering of 19th century baseballs as displayed in the museum.
