Description: Lou Gehrig single signed baseball. Unused Excelsior "Amateur League" baseball boldly signed on a side panel , "To Ronald With Best Wishes Lou Gehrig" in black fountain pen. Salutation and signature rate 7/8 out of 10 presenting beautifully with excellent contrast against the cream color baseball. Ball itself remains very clean with only minimal age toning. Originally obtained in the 1930 by Ronald Muhlenhaupt ("Ronald") at the Gehrig home in Mt. Vernon, NY who was friends with the Paulson family who were neighbors of the Gehrigs. Gehrig single signed baseballs of quality are particularly rare and desirable especially those examples with direct provenance such as the offered.
