Description: Heubach German bisque porcelain baseball figurines c.1880s. Striking large size batter and pitcher figurines stand approx. 14 1/2" tall with hand painted red and blue pinstriped uniforms. The pair retains strong eye appeal despite wear and repairs (batter has head glued back on at shoulders and is missing a thumb, pitcher has cracked and been glued along the waist and neck) along with some natural age related toning. Bat is a modern replacement. Impressed German manufacturer stampings "Geschuetzt-Gesetzlich" appear under the base: Range VG-EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$1,500)
