Description: Superlative Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed photograph c.1927-28. Classic sepia tone 8"x10" promotional photograph in a matte finish signed by both Yankees sluggers in black fountain pen. Ruth signature rates 8/9 out of 10 with crisp uniform clarity while Gehrig presents as 9/10 out of 10 having no mentionable flaws. The photo itself remains notably clean with only some very minor age toning mentioned for accuracy. Reverse of the image retains its original promotional stampings, "Official Souvenir Photo Home Run Tour Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig: Christy Walsh Management". Minor age toning/soiling to the left edge of the back. The offered photograph was distributed during one of the many stops on the iconic barnstorming tour organized by Christy Walsh during the 1927-28 era. Ruth and Gehrig were the featured attractions on the tour which travelled across the country to play with local town league teams to earn extra revenue after the baseball season. While signed examples of this photo are occasionally seen within the marketplace this particular specimen is among the very finest to have surfaced. Most of the known examples are either personalized, signed by only one of the two players, or in lower condition grade. Stunning rarity of investment grade condition.
