Description: Rare Earl Combs professional model baseball bat c.1930s. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Combs facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 35.2oz. Strong usage wear is evident throughout with ball and contact marks to the barrel which has some grain swelling due to repeated contact. The handle appears to have been lightly scored and there is a repaired crack. Combs was with the Yankees for (12) seasons and served as leadoff hitter and centerfielder on (4) American League pennant and (3) World Series Championship teams. He is one of the (6) core members of "Murderers' Row" to have been inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Combs game bats are all but non-existent with only (2) examples that we can confirm to have been publicly documented. While this bat dates to his time as a coach it offers exceptional display value and may represent a singular opportunity to acquire any example. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
