Description: Babe Ruth's Japanned Chinoiserie Lacquer Music Cabinet with related invoice c.1930-40s. Large standing cabinet on open work frame having Japanned finish on the red lacquer ware cabinet. Chinoiserie decor adorns the body of the cabinet doors as was very much en vogue during the period to imitate Japanese and Chinese decorative arts. Beautiful general appearance with only a few minor pieces of the base molding missing. The cabinet includes a vintage delivery invoice as issued to "Tirone (Ruth)" likely in reference to Dorothy Pirone who was Babe's daughter and shows the pick up at the Riverside apartment and delivery address in Connecticut. Unique piece of decorative furniture which once was displayed in Babe Ruth's personal residence (Ruth apartment photo match).
