Description: Scarce Babe Ruth 1934 Tour of Japan silver pass with original leather folio. Very rare and desirable silver-plated pass as issued to Babe Ruth as a member of the U.S. All-Star team which toured Japan in 1934. Heavy gauge rectangular pass measures 2 3/8"x4" having embossed U.S. shield shaped enamelwork emblem at center inscribed beneath, "George H. Babe Ruth All American Baseball Team 1934 Japan". The pass remains in fine general condition with some light surface wear to front and back including very minor "pitting" mentioned for accuracy only. Impressed with hallmark of J.E. Caldwell on the reverse. Includes its original tooled leather folio with gilt lettering impressed on the interior, "George H. "Babe" Ruth". Some interior wear to the casing including missing portions of the celluloid viewing window. Outstanding artifact from the personal collection of Babe Ruth who was the central figure within the important 1934 Tour event.
