Description: "Lombardi Award" trophy with Ohio State attribution. Significant honor which was bestowed annually from 1970-2016 by the Lombardi Foundation "to the best college football player, regardless of position, based on performance, as well as leadership, character, and resiliency." The offered example comes from a larger group of Ohio State related material and is believed to have been presented to a recipient whom was part of their historic football program (past recipients have included Jim Stillwagon, John Hicks, Chris Spielman, Orlando Pace, and A.J. Hawk). Substantive piece stands approx. 18" tall with 14"x14" footprint. Mounted atop a metal pedestal is a heavy piece of granite; a nod to Lombardi having been Lombardi's having been a member of Fordham's "7 Blocks of Granite" offensive line. Printed just below is "Discipline" and a placard on base front reads, "Lombardi Award, Outstanding College Lineman..."
