Description: Fine Joe Namath New York Jets professional model road jersey with New York Jets pants c.1971-72 (MEARS A10). Classic white mesh jersey with screened on number 12 on front, back, and both shoulders. "Namath" sewn on nameplate remains affixed to the reverse. Proper Sand Knit tagging presents at the tail front denoting exclusive manufacture for New York Jets. The jersey exhibits very fine evident use and possesses numerous matching characteristics to Namath New York Jets jerseys of the era based on photographic comparison including sleeve cut, shoulder font, and back font. The font for the 2 on the front of the jersey does appear to vary from several Namath jerseys of the period leading MEARS Authentication to discern its use in a pre-season or perhaps practice game. Pair of matching New York Jets pants are included with the ensemble possessing proper Sand Knit/New York Jets tagging. Pants show heavy use including staining and are not attributed to have been worn by Namath but present as a fine addition to the jersey display. Signed in black marker by Namath with #12 inscription.
