Description: Dick Groat "U.S. All Stars" Hearst Sandlot Classic uniform circa 1947-48. Flannel jersey has "U.S. All Stars" lettered across the front and number "9" on back. "Wilson" tag appears in the collar with adjacent size "38" flag tag. Pants are likewise by Wilson (size 34). The Sandlot Classic recognized young talented players and offered them a platform to showcase their skill and helped many move on to Major League careers. Dick Groat appeared in both the 1947 and 48 games; the former honored Babe Ruth whom had been selected an honorary Chairman and the later was played in homage just after his passing.
