Description: Rare 1951 Joe DiMaggio World Series professional model baseball bat. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with highly desirable factory stamped designation for the 1951 World Series (World Series engraving began in 1950) which would be the final games of DiMaggio+s career. Bat measures 36+ long and weighs 33.4oz. with model number D29L stamped on knob end. Trademark and barrel stampings present very nicely with bold impressions. Bat shows evident light use including ball marks, cleat marks, and grain swelling. The 1951 season culminated with another World Championship for the Yankees+ dynasty of the 1940-50s era. The title also marked the changing of the guard with the final season of the legendary career for the Yankee Clipper would give way to the young outfielder by the name of Mickey Mantle in his first season. This bat was one of only four World Series engraved bats ever ordered by DiMaggio, it also represents the final bat order of his career. Hall of Fame professional model bats with World Series designation are among the most rare and sought after of all game bats with this particular example dating to the historic final season of DiMaggio+s career.
