Description: Important "View Of Fulton, N.Y." color tinted print c.late 1850s Early view of a baseball game at play set within a landscape showing many facets of life in the period. Titled, "View of Fulton. N.Y." and marked "Lithographed & Published By M.D.V. Martin" within the lower border. The game is believed to be taking place in what is now Foster Park and the Fulton Valley Seminary School can be seen in the background; the site where Candy Cummings is said to have thrown the first curve ball. Housed in a 23"x30" wooden frame with some mild scattered wear visible including some scuffs/chips and light toning. Incredible scarcity with the offered example denoted as one of only 2 or 3 surviving specimens: VG
