Includes letter written to Ott in 1925 (then 16 years old) by Louis Zehner (whom played in the Minor Leagues for a short time) which discusses Ott's potential future and Zehner's desire to sign him; additional letter written to Ott's father Charles, by Zehner, offering a contract (likely sent in care of Mel whom would have been to young to sign for himself at the time); and short handwritten statement (looks to have been done by Zehner) which is unsigned but would have committed Ott to play for the New Orleans Southern Association baseball team (this piece has a large chip); scrapbook page (approx. 9"x16") to which has been affixed a newsprint clipping (showing Ott and another player in High School Prep League) and a pair of typed letters addressed to John McGraw and Art Nehf of the New York Giants. Both letters have similar content and were intended to introduce Ott to the team/recipients. Varying degrees of wear throughout. Includes letter of provenance from the Ott Family: GD-VG with 1 piece lesser
