Description: Unique "Dodgers" professional quality baseball jersey c. 1947-53 (Tommy Hawkins Collection). Very fine quality cream color flannel jersey having red sleeves with red/blue piping. "Dodgers" team name embroidered in blue across the front with rare three dimensional "28" red on blue numerals. Wilson manufacturer tagging inside collar with "42" size flag tag. Jersey shows evident use while retaining beautiful original color remaining in fine original condition. Small hole found at back of collar area. Based on research we coudl not locate any documentation of this particular jersey style as worn by the Brooklyn Dodgers even though the quality and style certainly suggest same. Very interesting and visually attractive period uniform of the highest quality.
