Description: 1946 Alex Pompez autographed Puerto Rican Baseball League contract. Original "Liga Profesional de Base-Ball de Puerto Rico" contract as issued to player John Hayes by Santurce for the 1946-47 season. Signed inside by Hayes and Pedro Zorilla (as President of the team) along with witnesses Dick Seay and Alex Pompez. Fountain pen signatures rate 8 to 8/9 out of 10. Contract has toning and discoloration (along the upper edge) along with some light general handling and storage wear. Pompez remains one of the Negro Leagues' most storied and influential team owners and played a key role in bringing the League, and many of it's players, to the forefront.
