Description: Significant The Sporting News 1966 National League Player of the Year award. Highly coveted presentational plaque as presented to Clemente in recognition of his selection as the prestigious Sporting News National League Player of the Year. Cast pewter titling placards affixed to a mahogany plaque with an additional bust placard depicting Clemente in Pirates uniform. The wooden plaque is a modern replacement due to damage that occurred to the original. One of only a handful of Sporting News Player of the Year awards to have been publicly offered.
