Description: Important Mel Ott single signed baseball with handwritten "Home Run 1933 World Series" home run attribution. Red and black stitched Spalding J.Heydler Official National League baseball has been signed "Melvin Ott" across the sweet spot. Fountain pen signature rates 6-6/7 out of 10. It is inscribed in his hand just off to the side, "First home run 1933 World Series." The inscription has been enhanced in blue ink with original fountain pen writing visible beneath quite possibly by Ott himself. The ball displays soiling and obvious use with some scattered surface wear. Under the leadership of Bill Terry the New York Giants would claim three National League Pennants in (10) years and won the World Series in 1933. It would be the only Championship team Mel Ott was a part of and he performed admirably hitting .389 with a pair of home runs. The offered ball is attributed to his first; a two-run blast in the first inning of Game #1. The offered baseball represents one of the most significant of its type with primary source documentation from a member of the vaunted 500 Home Run Club. Includes full LOA from JSA and letter of provenance from the Ott Family: Overall EX
