Description: 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Championship ring from the Ralph Branca Collection. Desirable gold ring fashioned in similar style to those issued to team members has "Brooklyn World Champions" lettered around the face having inset diamond solitaire on blue field. "Dodgers" team name, done in scripted logo font, appears on the right shank within raised baseball decoration. The year "1955" is below and "First" is atop in recognition of the Dodgers lone World Series Championship in New York. The initials "R.T.B." are hand engraved on the left shank within a crossed bats and baseball design and it is marked "Dieges & Clust" inside. While Branca was not a part of the 1955 Dodgers team he had spent the better part of a decade with the club in the years leading up to that season (1944-53) and would rejoin them in 1956. It is believed that with his close familial ties to the organization (his in-laws being longtime part owners) a ring was executed for presentation to Branca in recognition to his tenure with the club. Mild wear and possibly resized to its current size of (10). Includes letter of provenance from the Branca Family and image of Branca wearing the offered ring: EX-EX/MT
