Description: Billy Pierce Highland Park Owls High School team jacket, trophies, and related material c.1943-44 Includes red satin jacket with "City Champs Owls 1943" patch on front chest along and "B Pierce" embroidered strip tag inside (a period 8"x10" photo shows Pierce wearing the jacket while shaking hands with Connie Mack at the Polo Grounds); additional "City Champs" patch of similar design (loose); white wool button front sweater with "City Champs" patch on the chest and "Pierce" embroidered strip tag inside; figural 16" tall trophy with engraved metal band reading "Detroit Free Press Sandlotter Of The Month Trophy, May 1943, Awarded To Bill Pierce..."; smaller metal trophy which reads "D.A.B.F. Class B '44 Champs" (missing bat); scorecard from game played by the Owls team (including Pierce) at Briggs Stadium; and 5"x7" sepia toned photo of the Owls baseball team.
