Description: Rare Pat Collins professional model baseball bat c.1920 (PSA "GU 7"). Spalding pre model number bat with "P Collins" block lettered into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 34.7oz. There is strong usage wear evident throughout with scattered ball marks and a touch of grain swelling due to repeated contact. The handle, which has a professionally repaired crack, has residue from a pair of tape rings (no longer present) which were applied to aid in grip. Factory side writing is no longer visible however there is clearly an area which was prepared for it by Louisville Slugger employees. Collins spent (10) years in the Major Leagues and his most noted seasons were with the New York Yankees from 1926 to 1928; a period in which the club fielded one of the greatest teams of all-time winning 1927 and 28 World Series Championships. An exceptional rarity with this being one of only (3) or (4) examples we can document to have entered the market. Includes LOAs from Hunt Auctions and PSA/DNA (graded "GU 7"): EX
