Description: Rick Ferrell professional model baseball bat c.1934-40. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Ferrell facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 34" long and weighs 34oz. Mild usage wear is evident throughout with some light grain swelling and a handle crack. The bat is side written in grease pencil to indicate that it was returned to the factory on May 29, 1940 by Lou Finney to be used a reference for future orders. It was, at that time, vault marked with "F49" model number on either end. Ferrell left the Red Sox in 1937 and Finney came in 1939 suggesting that it had likely been an extra left with the team.
