Description: Significant 1957 Nellie Fox Gold Glove Award. Prestigious award as bestowed annually upon the games' premier defensive players dates to the first season in which they were issued. A full size gold finished Rawlings glove with "Major League All Star Fielding Team" impressed titling is displayed upon rectangular mahogany base. A figural baseball fielder stands alongside with free standing brass placard which reads, "1957 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, 2B Nelson Fox, The Sporting News All Star Fielding Team". This 1957 award was the first of three Fox would earn while playing in Chicago, the city where he established his legacy as one of the greatest second basemen of All-Time. Notably significant with regard to the early year of issue and relative scarcity of awards presented to so notable a player. Hint of light natural age and handling wear.
