Description: Rare Harry Hooper autographed professional model baseball glove c.1910-15. High quality 2 1/2" web fielders' glove attributed to playing career use by Hall of Famer Harry Hooper. Exceptionally strong usage wear is evident throughout with some loss of wrist strap material (currently held in place with horse hair from the period) and hole/separation in the palm. Signed "Harry Hooper" along the outside of the pinky in ink rating 6-6/7 out of 10. The glove originates from the Michael Lopota collection and includes a copy of a handwritten letter from Hooper reading in part, "The glove which I sent you recently under separate cover was one worn out by me. However I am not sure whether it was while I was with the Boston Red Sox or the Chicago White Sox..." Hooper along with Duffy Lewis and Tris Speaker formed one of the finest outfield combinations in Major League history. Among the earliest well documented Hall of Fame player gloves to have entered the marketplace.
